John D. LeMay is a California based actor whose career in theatre
began in Normal, Illinois when he participated in school plays as a
young student which involved both singing and acting. After
completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Illinois State University
where he completed a double major in music and musical theatre, John
moved to Los Angeles in 1985 and made various guest appearances in
popular tv series which included Remington Steele, The Facts Of
Life, and Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone. In 1987, he landed the
leading role in Paramount television's horror syndicated series
"Friday The 13th: The Series" as Ryan Dallion, a young antique
sleuth who worked with his distant cousin and their retired magician
friend, in hunting down cursed objects. Friday The 13th was filmed
in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and though John left to pursue other
career goals at the end of the second season, he is best known for
his work and his role as Ryan Dallion and is the all time fan
favourite.
His website generates a great deal of interest for both his work
from the Friday series (also known under the title of Friday's Curse
in the UK), and also for his 1993 starring role in New Line Cinema's
Friday The 13th film series part 9 "Jason Goes To Hell: The Final
Friday". In January 2002, John had the pleasure of meeting a large
group of loyal Friday The 13th fans at a special horror convention
in New Jersey. He continues to contribute to fan-based conventions
and will also be featured in the 25th anniversary book about Friday
The 13th films called "Crystal Lake Memories" to be released in
October 2005.
John has also returned to the stage as a member of the Acting
Company at the Alliance Repertory Theatre of Burbank, California and
received outstanding critics' reviews for his starring role as a
lawyer turned filmmaker in the Alliance production of "Spec". John
continues to work both on the stage and behind the scenes as a
production designer at Alliance Theatre. He is also currently
serving as Chair of the Alliance Theare. He has also filmed
commercial spots for many well-known American companies including
e*Trade, Kodak, Dunkin' Donuts and most recently, for Bissell
Homecare Inc. and Cisco Systems. In his spare time, John is an
accomplished artist whose work has been showcased around the world
and some of his paintings are displayed in the galleries of select
American companies.
